The Matton family, who has owned Château Minuty for over 80 years, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Château Verez, located in the plains of Vidauban, found in the heart of the Massif des Maures in southern France; a 60 ha estate, 40 ha of which are cultivated vineyards classified AOC Côtes de Provence. The vines (on average 25 years old and comprised of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah) are lined with umbrella pines and olive trees. In the middle of the vineyard lies a beautiful Provencal “bastide” offering elegant guest rooms.
As the Château Verez vineyard adjoins that of the Domaine de Chateauneuf, owned by the Matton family since the end of the 19th century, this acquisition comes as a natural expansion. “Quality has always been and continues to be our keyword”, says François Matton. “Château Verez is a gem found on a terroir of which we are particularly fond and that is already part of our and our wines’ history.” The Matton family Estate now extends over 160 ha, divided between Gassin (60 ha), Ramatuelle (20 ha) and Vidauban (80 ha).
